Entry #5: Breaking Down the Madness: A Rhetorical Analysis of Allstate's Mayhem Ad

Image
Cat:30 | Allstate Mayhem "Cat :30" is a comical Allstate Insurance commercial that features a mischievous cat causing chaos in a household. Through humor and relatability, the ad aims to evoke a sense of humor and lightheartedness while promoting the Allstate Insurance product. By examining the advertisement's use of rhetorical strategies, the underlying message of the commercial will support its effectiveness in achieving its intended purpose. The ad presents a humorous take on the realities of accidents and mishaps in the home, using a mischievous cat as the main protagonist. The cat is represented by a man in a suit, which adds to the humorous tone of the add, since witnessing a grown man dressed formally acting like a cat is unusual. By personifying the chaos of the homeowner's cat and destruction that can take place in a home, the commercial creates a relatable and lighthearted atmosphere that grabs the audience's attention. The use of a cat as the central ch...

Entry #4: Is Country Music More Than Just Twangy Guitars and Cowboy Hats?

Image
Hey there, fellow music lovers! I know that many of you have different musical tastes, but it's no secret that country music often gets a bad rap from others. I prefer to look at the bad rap that this genre receives from an unbiased perspective. I know that a lot of people listen to country music and see cliches, but I believe there might be more to it than the stereotypes would have you believe. I've been wondering about why country music gets so much hate and what it says about our culture and our relationship to music.      To start off, country music is a genre that has always been polarizing. For some, it's the ultimate expression of American culture, a celebration of the heartland and the values that define it. For others, it's a relic of a bygone era, a hodgepodge of cliches and stereotypes that has long since lost its relevance. Most people of this generation now listen to genres such as pop, hip-hop, and rap.      I remember the...

Entry #3: Stimulate Your Senses

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a small, white and red, circular treat that was both refreshing and invigorating. As I unwrapped the packaging, I was greeted with a satisfying crinkle that made me eager to try what was inside. When I held the treat in my hand, I felt a surge of excitement run through me. It was smooth and cool to the touch, and I could feel the weight of it in my hand. Upon placing it in my mouth, I was immediately struck by the intense and revitalizing flavor that filled my senses. It was as if a cold breeze had exploded in my mouth. As it began to dissolve, I could feel a cool sensation spreading throughout my mouth and down my throat. Despite its small size, the treat packed a powerful punch that left me feeling enlivened and energized. As my tongue searched for more of the treat, I realized that it was gone. But the memory of it remained.       The experience of eating it was not just about the taste, but also the ...

Entry #2: You Simply Moose Visit Alaska

Image
Hello, everyone, welcome back to my blog. For this post, I wanted to talk about Alaska . I know most of you probably do not think too much of Alaska, since it is pretty far away and you've probably never thought about taking a trip there anytime soon. I thought those same things until I was invited to a wedding there. So far, I have visited Alaska twice, only one of those times was for a wedding. I did a little research on Alaska before visiting to give you guys a little background on the beautiful state. As you already may know, Alaska is located in the northwest region of North America. It is also a very large state, actually the largest in our country. While I was visiting, most people actually called this state the "Last Frontier" which was interesting to think about. Alaska is very beautiful and green, the landscape consists of large mountains, waterfalls, and lakes. Unlike here in Arizona, Alaska does not reach higher temperatures. It does get pretty chilly over the...

Entry #1. 1 Blog, 2 Blog, Good Blog, Bad Blog

Image
This is my first official blog post, so go easy on me. I've never blogged before or really had any interest in doing so but I'll do my best for the sake of English 101. I never realized that I read blogs until I put in some research and discovered that some of the websites that I usually open are blogs. There are some that I find helpful and entertaining, but there are also others that I don't usually prefer to read, which include complex setups and useless information like celebrity drama. However, I do enjoy blogs that people use to express themselves and their ideas. Hopefully my blog will follow in those footsteps. I clicked on a couple links to find a few blogs I could write about and came across three certain blogs: Men's Health , I Can Haz Cheezburger? , and  TMZ . The first blog to catch my attention while conducting research was the  Men's Health  blog. I have previously checked in on this blog as I am a man and was interested as to what this blog had to sa...
