Identifying Myself
Greetings everyone, my name is Benny. I am 19-years-old at the time of writing this post. I graduated from Ironwood High School last year. I'm attending GCC to obtain my associate's degree to help me get closer to my goal of becoming a secondary school history teacher.
I have a variety of interests and hobbies, so I'll name a few of them:
I listen to a wide range of music, but I mainly listen to Metal. I especially like Bullet For My Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold
I don't heavily indulge in anime, but I really like one that I just finished: Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
I also like playing video games, mainly RPGs and single-player games. I really enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Every night for 5 days a week, I like to go to the gym to workout for a couple hours.
One of the largest pet peeves that I have is when I am having a conversation with someone and while I am talking to them, they pull out their phone and start texting. It makes me feel like they're not listening. Most times when people do this, I have to sit in silence for a few moments so they could finish their text. Eventually, when they send their text, they look back up at me and say "What?" so it just makes me feel unimportant.
As I mentioned earlier, my biggest goal is to become a secondary school history teacher. I love teaching and the idea of being able to strengthen and help form the next generation. Once I have the career that I want, I want to start building a family and future for them as well. If all goes well, I'll have a loving spouse, kids, and I can sit back and relax, spending time with family, growing, and enjoying the career that I love.
What makes me unique? That's a good question! I don't know about many other people, but I'm more of a work first, play later kind of person. I won't allow myself to do anything I want, unless I do all the things that I need to do. I always try to be early and turn in assignments early. Whenever I would try to play first, work later, the guilt would always overcome me and I'd get a nasty feeling. With all that being said, I'd say my work mindset makes me unique.
I hope you all enjoyed reading about me, it was a pleasure to introduce myself, thank you.
Hi Benny. I completely agree with you about your pet peeve. I understand the feeling of when someone is on their phone not paying attention to you, it makes you feel invisible. Time management is definitely important to me as well. I can't stand that last minute stress. Sounds like you have great career goals and hope it all works out for you.
